India remains an attractive market for new-age internet companies waiting to exploit its large digitally connected population. After all, in 2017, some 450 million Indians are expected to be online. The country is also home to the world’s second-largest smartphone user population.

Yet, the market is riddled with challenges as internet connectivity remains poor. A bulk of India’s netizens still use less than half-a-GB of data per month, the report said.
